Who enjoys Formula 1 racing?




One can sometimes draw an analogy between selling and Formula 1 racing, as both require a reliable vehicle and professional racing driver to navigate a racetrack, and outmaneuver competitors!


For simplicity's sake, let's assume the racing car is a Product you're selling, the driver is your Salesperson, and the track is the Market you're selling into.


Obviously the vehicle will need to have plenty of features that culminate in the key benefit of being able to do laps faster than competitor vehicles. 


The F1 driver needs to have lots of experience in racing vehicles, overtaking competitors, knowing when its safe to accelerate and maintain stability, and finally knowing what to do if and when there's an accident!


The racetrack can have many hazards or obstacles that will certainly test the metal of both the driver and the vehicle. It could be technical, challenging, long, boring, arduous, or just plain scary! The expertise, experience, and performance of the F1 racing driver and car will ultimately determine who will win the race, regardless of the challenges of the track!


Folk, practice does make perfect when it comes to selling, however, part of practice should be appropriate and regular Sales Training!
